Scientific name :
Oryctolagus cuniculus
We often classify them by mistake among rodents, but in fact they are lagomorfes. We can see the difference at the level of the dentition : a rodent has 2 pairs of long incisors, while a lagomorfe has 2 little incisors extra in the upper jawbone.
It is also commun to confuse the rabbit and the hare. The rabbit has a body and ears smaller, and among the hare, back legs are a lot of longer than front legs, that permit him to leap and run faster.
