Associations invested in the preservation of the species
Numerous associations are trying to help this species which is endangered in its country of origin. In Thailand, the Kalaweit association (headed up by a young Frenchman) works to raise consciousness among young Thais about the danger this species faces. There are three threats: deforestation, poaching and animal traffic. This association has already protected 35,000 hectares of forests through two Gibbons conservation centers.
